OUTLINE
Towards a gun outline, but not completely gunny. Louche's long continuous rail lines gives confidence when riding fast. The rounded pin tail has been pulled in a touch to help the board feel intuitive when turning at high speeds, after all we don't want any unwanted surprises when going that fast. Louche is versatile and has been shaped for powerful waves both large and/or steep. So it's not just for serious conditions; it's also fun fun fun in fast fast beach breaks.
The foil is shaped to be able to paddle far and quickly for when you see sets coming, whether you're paddling towards or away from; there's plenty of foam down the stringer through the centre of the board under the chest and widest point into the back third where the thickness tapers out. The tapering out to the thin and narrow rounded pintail and rails make it easy to sink the back of the board when moving quickly, helping the surfer feel confident.
BOTTOM CONTOURS
Vee under the nose to assist paddling and flat under the front third making early take-offs easier so you're on your feet before the wave becomes critical. Double concave starts ahead of the front foot, deepening between the feet and continuing out through the tail; this gives control at speed by cutting out on chatter from an uneven surface or wind chop, and makes rolling rail to rail a smooth transition. Around the fins the double concave is inset (spiral vee?) to help drive water through the fins to have a deeper engagement. everything you need to feel secure.
ROCKER
Generous nose rocker to safeguard against problems associated with late take-offs, which can become critical in steeper waves.

The emphasis of Louche is to be responsive on rail in steep waves, it's designed to surf well in powerful waves. To this end the rocker is continuous throughout the whole length of the board bringing stability at the critical moments, the moments when you need it most.

A small flick up out the back behind the centre fin is small so it doesn't break the rail line but it is enough to keep a light turning feel if you're pushing vertical top turns.

Designed as a responsive thruster with carver fins, but will work as a quad if you want more speed.
